BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — On November 3rd, Alabama voters will select a person to serve in the U.S. Senate for the next six years.
ABC 33/40 reached out to Republican challenger Tommy Tuberville and incumbent Democratic senator Doug Jones.
We offered each of the nominees a sit-down interview.
Along with each interview, ABC 33/40 asked the candidates to fill out a non-political questionnaire.
Senator Jones's campaign accepted.
Tuberville's campaign agreed to fill out the non-political questionnaire, but declined an interview.
On Friday, October 2nd, Senator Jones arrived at ABC 33/40 for the interview.
Se. Jones and ABC 33/40's Pam Huff sat six feet apart and wore masks until the moment the interview began.
The first question – why did he choose not to meet with Amy Coney Barrett, the nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court.
